{"id":185545,"date":"2026-04-27T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=185545"},"modified":"2026-04-22T21:17:57","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T11:17:57","slug":"the-hoedown-turning-anglesea-hall-into-a-dance-floor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/the-hoedown-turning-anglesea-hall-into-a-dance-floor\/","title":{"rendered":"The hoedown turning Anglesea Hall into a dance floor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TWO Anglesea Kindergarten parents are behind a community hoedown next weekend, bringing a beginner-friendly line dancing night to the memorial hall.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature guided sessions aimed at all experience levels, with organisers encouraging locals to come along with friends or give it a go solo.<\/p>\n<p>The night will be led by Country Struts \u2013 a Melbourne-based group that has performed at Meredith Music Festival and Rising \u2013 bringing a social style of dancing not often seen on the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n<p>Organiser Romy Renzow said the idea grew from a shared experience with co-organiser Cassie Harrison.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cassie Harrison and I met at a boot scooting event in Point Lonsdale three years ago, and it was just a really cute night,&#8221; Renzow said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now both our children are at Anglesea kinder, we thought it was a great opportunity to have a parents evening out and to raise funds for the region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are friends with the Country Struts team and they are superstars. We can&#8217;t wait.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All funds raised will go towards programs and resources for Angelsea Kindergarten.<\/p>\n<p>Renzow said the night was designed to be relaxed and accessible, particularly for those who might not usually step onto a dance floor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It won&#8217;t be taken seriously, it&#8217;ll just be a modern take with really fun dance moves,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[Similar events] attract all the generations, which is fantastic, and we hope the Anglesea event will be no different.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the 2 May event at the Anglesea Memorial Hall are available via <a href=\"http:\/\/linktr.ee\/angleseakinder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">linktr.ee\/angleseakinder<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TWO Anglesea Kindergarten parents are behind a community hoedown next weekend, bringing a beginner-friendly line dancing night to the memorial hall.
