SEDA College was established in 2007 to address gaps in traditional education and in 2017 evolved into an independent senior secondary school and the largest provider of the Victorian Certificate of Education \u2013 Vocational Major (VCE VM), with over 800 students across Victoria.<\/p>\n

At SEDA, students who share a passion for sports thrive in an applied, hands-on learning environment.<\/p>\n

Partnering with Australia’s leading sport, recreation, community and trade organisations, students gain real-world industry experiences.<\/p>\n

The SEDA model places student interests at the forefront of their senior secondary education, integrating practical connections to industry.<\/p>\n

In addition to the sports development program, the college also offers exclusive high-performance programs in AFL, cricket, basketball and football that empower eligible students to complete their education in a high-performance training environment.<\/p>\n

SEDA College in Geelong, operating since 2009, has two classes in partnership with prominent organisations like the Geelong Football Club, Cricket Victoria, Melbourne Vixens and Melbourne United.<\/p>\n

A priority is the development of key personal qualities and transferable skills, aligning with the needs of employers. Classrooms are strategically located in local community settings and provide a dynamic environment for learning.<\/p>\n

SEDA College’s individualised learning transforms students’ lives and provides unique opportunities to develop practical skills for a successful future.<\/p>\n

Its distinctive ‘one teacher, one classroom’ model fosters a genuine mentoring approach, enabling teachers to walk alongside and support each student’s individual journey through their secondary education.<\/p>\n

In a typical week, students spend 2.5 days in the classroom, one day delivering sport clinics in the community, and one day gaining industry experience in a structured workplace.<\/p>\n

Activities throughout the year, such as presentations on health promotion strategies, coaching sessions with elite partners and engaging in sports like surfing and skiing, enhance the SEDA College experience.<\/p>\n

Career advice is integral to the program, with all students completing their ‘MyJOURNEY’, a digital professional portfolio linking skills and industry experiences to educational and employment pathways.<\/p>\n

Teachers, supported by the professional pathways team, guide students through this process, ensuring a seamless transition into their desired future.<\/p>\n
