Photo: Lachlan Ford.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We still see it as a great conduit to bring the farming experience to town so people can experience what goes on out there,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the future of farming, we need to create interest in the urban environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>McCann said the show is always looking for people eager to get involved and contribute to the atmosphere of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteer roles range from staffing information booths and assisting with livestock competitions to helping behind the scenes, while a dedicated catering team ensures volunteers are fed throughout the event.<\/p>\n<p>The Society is also encouraging local clubs, community groups and other organisations to get involved this year and use the event as an opportunity to showcase their work to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/The_Geelong_Show-202_22430.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Royal Geelong Show continues to draw generations of families through the gates with a mix of agricultural displays, entertainment and community exhibits.
