	{"id":18846,"date":"2018-10-25T07:50:47","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T20:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=18846"},"modified":"2018-10-25T22:28:38","modified_gmt":"2018-10-25T11:28:38","slug":"glass-art-pieces-inspired-by-natural-worlds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/glass-art-pieces-inspired-by-natural-worlds\/","title":{"rendered":"GLASS ART PIECES INSPIRED BY natural worlds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Breathing air into molten glass to blow, hand shape and spin it to create small sculptures and jewellery is one of Glenda Mac Naughton\u2019s great creative joys.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By softening and hand shaping glass using an oxygen and gas torch (known as flamework), Glenda creates one-of-kind glass art pieces inspired by natural worlds near and far.<\/p>\n<p>Her latest work is inspired by NASA images of outer space\u2019s otherworldly colours, patterns and shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Glenda loves pushing the boundaries of her own skills and knowledge and to that end has taken glass workshops with many leading glass artists internationally, most recently in Murano, Venice, Italy.<\/p>\n<p>She has gained many awards for her jewellery designs and small sculptures most recently achieving \u2018Best in Show\u2019 at the annual Drysdale international Festival of Glass for her hand blown glass sculpture inspired by the cliffs of the Bellawein (Bellarine).<\/p>\n<p>Glenda lives in Drysdale where she creates and sells her designs in her homestudio and in regional galleries.
