Local optometrist Kirsten Bolton lives on the Surf Coast and loves taking care of the eyes of her community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kirsten has been an optometrist for more than 20 years, and recently received an award from OPSM recognising a decade of eyecare service.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeyond prescribing glasses, I regularly remove foreign bodies from tradesmen\u2019s eyes, prescribe antibiotic eye drops to manage infections, and care for diabetic patients collaboratively with local GPs,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Kirsten utilises advanced eyecare technology such as optical coherence tomography and ultra-widefield scanning laser ophthalmoscopy to ensure her patient\u2019s eyes are entirely healthy.<\/p>\n

These technologies allow intricate eye assessments to be made, within thousands of a millimetre, and often revealing detail that cannot be seen with the naked eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a practitioner at OPSM Waurn Ponds is fantastic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoy practicing the full scope of my profession, with state-of-the-art equipment. As a team of optometrists, we are constantly developing together and enhancing the personalised examinations we provide to every one of our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kirsten appreciates the importance of good vision, being a keen bird-watcher who loves native wildflowers.<\/p>\n

She stays healthy with CrossFit and riding her new cyclo cross bike.<\/p>\n
