Trains have resumed on the Geelong line after a track fault near Lara halted services this morning.<\/p>\n

V\/Line has confirmed train services have resumed after more than five hours of disruptions and advised passengers\u00a0to allow extra travel time as trains return to normal scheduling through Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank Geelong Line passengers for their patience with coaches replacing trains between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale due to a complex signalling and telecommunications fault,\u201d a V\/Line spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

The fault caused boom gates along the line to activate earlier today, with police and traffic management dispatched to assist vehicles at level crossings in Lara and Corio.<\/p>\n

More than 40 coaches were deployed to assist commuters between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale.<\/p>\n

V\/Line confirmed the fault is not related to vandalism on the line near Tarneit earlier this week.<\/p>\n
