The Uniting Church in Queenscliff will come alive with the heavenly sounds of The Georgia Brooks Swingtet on November 4.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Touted as vintage swing with a natural elegance, Georgia and the Melbourne-based band will sing songs from their long-awaited debut album With Thee I Swing.<\/p>\n

Recorded at Newmarket Studios, North Melbourne and engineered by Callum John Barter (Cat Empire, Courtney Barnett, British India); The Georgia Brooks Swingtet comprises of Georgia Brooks (vocals), Kym Dillon (piano), Ben Calderazzo (guitar), Michelle Scully (double bass) and Sean Loughran (drums).<\/p>\n

A rising star in the Australian jazz scene, Georgia Brooks wows audiences wherever she goes, having assembled some of the finest musicians they relish performing anywhere from a rip-roaring swing dance to the more subdued and dynamic concert setting.<\/p>\n

Imbued with a decidedly vintage tone, a natural elegance and a great respect for the classic repertoire of the 1920s and \u201830s, Georgia is just at home singing alongside a guitar or piano as she is with her full complement of musicians.<\/p>\n

After years of classical training Georgia moved into swing and jazz, picking it up with ease and in doing so discovered a natural flair for interpreting many of the well-known (and some lesser-known) works of the early twentieth century.<\/p>\n

A swing dance teacher in her own right Georgia has a great command of melody, harmony and rhythm, a stellar performer with one of the most exquisite voices you\u2019ll ever hear, don\u2019t miss the opportunity to see The Georgia Brooks Swingtet live on stage.<\/p>\n

This Cafe Style Concert will be held in the beautiful Chapel at the Uniting Queenscliff, Corner Hesse and Stokes Street on November 4 at 5pm.<\/p>\n
