LIGHTNING Electrical Co, based in Armstrong Creek, is owned and operated by passionate local Billy Hughes.<\/p>\n
With over a decade of experience in the industry, Billy recently thought now was the best time to go out on his own and bring light to homes across the Surf Coast, Bellarine and Geelong regions himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been an electrician for over 10 years now and through my apprenticeship covered everything from domestic work to commercial jobs, heavy industrial to petrochemical site work,\u201d Billy said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past six years I have lived in Torquay and worked out on the Bass Strait oil and gas platforms. I have always wanted to start my own business and when I was informed that things were slowing down in Bass Strait I thought it was the perfect opportunity to go out on my own.\u201d<\/p>\n
Working from 7am-5pm, Billy is also available for call outs when needed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a pretty well-rounded sparky, there\u2019s not much that I haven\u2019t worked with and I will soon be licensed in solar too.<\/p>\n
\u201cI offer power and lighting to new homes and renovations, undergrounds, switchboard upgrades, sheds, home entertainment systems, antennas, security, data points, repairs and general maintenance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Billy takes pride in his work, often using light to its potential in any room.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know it sounds corny, but I really love standing back at the end of a job and admiring what I have done,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI take a lot of pride in my work and when it pleases my clients I get a real kick out of it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have a pretty keen eye for style. Lighting is a very important aspect of maximising a room or alfresco area, so I am very keen on specialised lighting and placement.\u201d<\/p>\n
