THE Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club has launched a new initiative to provide discounts to locals and increase community use of its facilities.<\/p>\n
The club says its Social Pass has been developed to cater for those who would like to socialise at the club but who don\u2019t want to sign up for full membership, or need access to club equipment and activities.<\/p>\n
Much like club membership fees, the annual Social Pass fees go directly towards purchasing and maintaining lifesaving equipment as well as training and development.<\/p>\n
Social Pass holders have access to benefits including discounts at the Captain Moonlite restaurant at the club and invitations to exclusive events.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great lifestyle option if you want to feel part of the club and support us without committing to full membership,\u201d Anglesea SLSC president Tom Cullen said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, we continue to focus on building our core membership, but we felt the Social Pass might have appeal
\nin the broader community.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a club we are focused on being inclusive and fostering a strong relationship with the local community.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s Anglesea\u2019s club and we would love to see lots of locals get involved, whether as active members on the beach or as Social Pass holders.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Social Pass is $80 for permanent residents in the 3230, 3228, 3231 and 3240 postcodes and $100 for non-locals.<\/p>\n
In other Anglesea SLSC news, the club will play host to the Banana Boat Swim Kids Series (Surf Coast) which is set to attract lots of young swimmers to the region on December 28, as part of the club\u2019s annual Burson Rock 2 Ramp Swim.<\/p>\n
The club is also continuing to progress its $5.5 million redevelopment, and will move from detailed design work to tender once it secures the necessary funding.<\/p>\n
To date, it has raised $3.6 million \u2013 $1.5 million from the state government, $500,000 from the federal government, $250,000 from the Surf Coast Shire and $1.35 million committed by club members and supporters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
