Seaside Dance Co. in Torquay will offer a range of dance classes and styles to suit everyone spearheaded by their incredibly talented director Rebecca Mansfield.<\/p>\n
Classes will run every Monday and Tuesday evenings from 4pm at the Torquay Improvement Association Inc (TIA) in Price Street, Torquay.<\/p>\n
Rebecca said all ages are welcome to take part in a selection of classical ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, breakdance and hip-hop classes.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Seaside Dance Co, we aim to inspire each student to realise his or her own potential and are committed, to providing the highest quality dance education in a positive and encouraging learning environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
With over 20 years\u2019 experience in the professional dance industry and an incredible dance career, Rebecca said she was excited to launch the school in the heart of Torquay.<\/p>\n
Rebecca began dancing at the Craigieburn School of Dance as a fouryear- old, and as an 11-year-old (along with 400 others) auditioned for the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and was one of 20 to get in.<\/p>\n
\u201cI went on to study all styles of dance full time and successfully completed my VCE. It was during high school I started my teaching career and my passion grew from there. I went on to graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Dance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhilst at the VCA I was privileged to work with the best choreographers and professionals on offer.\u201d<\/p>\n
For the next few years she worked for various dance companies performing and running workshops; taught dance at multiple schools and performed on a regular basis around Melbourne for live shows, festivals and television.<\/p>\n
For the past 10 years Rebecca has worked as a dancer and manager for Katumba Latin Entertainment and Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, a national multi-cultural arts company.<\/p>\n
Rebecca said her focus has now turned to Seaside Dance Co. and was looking forward to passing on her knowledge to young dancers.<\/p>\n
