There\u2019s really no combination quite like wine and cheese, and for those who love to devote an afternoon to grazing an antipasto platter while politely sipping on a glass of the finest Pinot Noir, look no further than the Great Ocean Road this March.<\/p>\n
In an exclusive event as part of next year\u2019s Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, Provenance Wines are offering a taste of the Great Ocean Road experience to showcase quality local wine and fresh produce.<\/p>\n
On the weekend of March 15-17, guests are invited to the historic paper mill site to explore the heritage bluestone buildings which lead to Provenance Wines\u2019 winery.<\/p>\n
Staff will welcome ticketholders before an introduction into the history of Provenance Wines is hosted, followed by a tour of the winery, including winemaking equipment and tasting of some maturing barrel samples.<\/p>\n
Once the tour is over, the real fun begins.<\/p>\n
Guests will enjoy a guided wine tasting of Provenance Wines\u2019 regional series reserve pinot noirs and chardonnays, which are made from selected vineyards inland and along the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n
These wines include 2015 Ballarat Chardonnay, 2015 Henty Chardonnay, 2015 Geelong Chardonnay, 2015 Ballarat Pinot Noir, 2015 Henty Pinot Noir and 2015 Geelong Pinot Noir which will be accompanied by local produce.<\/p>\n
All wines are highly rated by James Halliday and are not part of the winery\u2019s regular cellar door tastings.<\/p>\n
