ORGANISERS of the popular Bells Bash Cliff Run have announced some changes for the route of the 2019 event, which will be held next week.<\/p>\n
The January 4 run is a fundraiser for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club with 1.5-kilometre, 4-kilometre and 8-kilometre events, and will start and finish at the clubhouse.<\/p>\n
Jan Juc SLSC fundraising and sponsorship director Brad Papworth said that in 2019, runners at the start would now go along Carnarvon Avenue, turn onto Duffields Road and then onto the Little Rock track.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis will alleviate a lot of the congestion at the start.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen, on the way back we will come along the beachside track, with more of an outlook.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said the rebuilding of the clubhouse presented the club with a lot of challenges, especially with the Bells Bash, but it was important to keep fundraising going by staging the run and also the Danger Swim Series on January 5.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe events are two of our hallmark ones for the year and we rely heavily on their revenue – 100 per cent of the funds go to the club.\u201d<\/p>\n
