SURF Coast Basketball Academy (SCBA) is a new basketball skills training and player development program based in Torquay.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe offer specialised training for basketball players aged seven and up and are focused on teaching the core fundamentals of ball handling, shooting, passing and defense,\u201d Sean Nancarrow said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe offer training for kids at all levels, whether they are beginners, or have multiple years of experience. Our sessions have limited spaces to ensure that each child receives one on one coaching and instruction.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost importantly we have fun, and help players build confidence in themselves and their skill level to apply to their local teams and competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The sessions are run by Shay Fox, an American import, who has played and coached basketball at multiple levels in the United States, including playing at the collegiate level. With the start of this program, he aims to give the basketball players of the Surf Coast an opportunity to improve, grow and reach their full basketball potential.<\/p>\n
