Mr McMahon, a member of the Torquay Lions Club, immediately called upon club members and friends to help out for a few hours &#8211; (from left) Lion Tony Smith, friend of Torquay Lions Michael Carey and Lion Bill Ferguson replaced unsafe posts and decking, weeded, pruned and repainted decks. The veteran was most grateful for the support. It was the second time in the past three years the Lions had answered a call to help the frail veteran and his wife do outside tasks, which they were now unable to do themselves.
