THE Torquay D\u2019s Club convened at the Torquay Hotel on Friday to have a drink in memory of club member and Torquay identity Peter \u201cDrafty\u201d McIver, who passed away last year.<\/p>\n

More than 50 members turned out for Drafty\u2019s tribute as part of their annual gathering, organising a plaque to be created in his honour which read \u201cDrafty \u2013 the go-to man is upstairs with our memories\u201d.<\/p>\n

Celebrating 59 years of operation with singalongs and stories, the Torquay-bred club continues to exist with a travelling door and no set clubroom.<\/p>\n

A rotating crown was worn by each member for 10 minutes, but oldest member Harry Milburn was lucky enough to be exempt from the set time limit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
