THE 2019 Henley and Villawood Properties\u2019 Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Good Friday Appeal\u2019s Charity House Auction is just around the corner.<\/p>\n
Going under the hammer this year will be a stunning Sahara 38 with grand alfresco, by Henley, which is a 38 square, four bedroom home, located at 16 Domingo Avenue, Clyde North, which is part of Villawood\u2019s boutique Delaray community. In 2017, a home at Villawood Properties Armstrong community in Armstrong Creek was auctioned off for the appeal.<\/p>\n
The RCH GFA Charity Home Auction has become one of Victoria\u2019s most loved auction events and one of the biggest contributors to The Appeal each year.<\/p>\n
The project initially started in 1993, when Henley committed to organise fundraising for The Appeal with the goal of raising $10,000.<\/p>\n
The Henley Directors felt they could do something even bigger to help, and decided to build and donate a home instead, with every cent raised at auction being donated.<\/p>\n
The first home located in Timbarra Estate, Berwick went for $136,500, smashing the initial goal of a $10,000 contribution.<\/p>\n
Each year since, Henley staff, trades and suppliers have been generously providing materials and labour to make the home a reality.<\/p>\n
It is anticipated that more than 400 bighearted trades and suppliers will contribute to the construction of the 2019 RCH GFA Charity Home.<\/p>\n
For the second year, every piece of furniture, soft furnishing and decorative piece inside the Sahara 38 on auction day will be donated by key furniture partners and included as part of the auction price.<\/p>\n
The enthusiasm to get behind the GFA grows each year, because like many Victorians everyone from Henley, Villawood and all the supporting trades and services has a link or appreciation for the invaluable service the RCH provides.<\/p>\n
More than 45,000 children were admitted to the RCH last year and more than 90,000 children were treated in emergency.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s in addition to the 255,000 children treated at the hospital\u2019s specialist clinics.<\/p>\n
The record for the RCH GFA Charity House Auction was set in 2018, with the Emperor 41 by Henley, located at 13 Harfield Avenue, Mickleham, selling for $860,000 \u2013 every cent of which went to the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n
