THE Low Light Festival will return to Queenscliff this year, with an expected 7000 visitors from far and wide to converge on the Bellarine.<\/p>\n
Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville recently announced that the second year of Queenscliff\u2019s boutique fringe festival would showcase the best local and international arts, food and drinks over two months, thanks to funding through the Labor Government\u2019s Regional Events Fund.<\/p>\n
Low Light will offset Queencliff\u2019s winter low season, with the town\u2019s public spaces, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants hosting art exhibitions, film premieres and screenings, literary readings and music performances.<\/p>\n
The festival will also offer the best of the region\u2019s culinary options \u2013 from degustation menus to wine tastings and whisky workshops.<\/p>\n
\u201cTourism is vital to regional Victoria \u2013 creating local jobs and supporting regional businesses keeps communities thriving,\u201d Ms Neville said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud to be supporting events like Low Light, attracting visitors to the beautiful Bellarine through the low seasons and capitalising on the tourism strengths of regional communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Low Light includes the Queenscliff Literary Festival, Bellarine Lighthouse Film Festival, Sacred Edge Festival, and the QMF Winter Concert Series, and can be enjoyed as a day trip or as a full weekend away.<\/p>\n
The Labor Government\u2019s $20 million Regional Events Fund helps rural and regional towns across Victoria secure a strong calendar of events to create local jobs and boost regional businesses.<\/p>\n
