APPRENTICES from the Bellarine and Surf Coast have been recognised for their dedication, skill and hard work during an awards night in Geelong last week.<\/p>\n
Blake Plymin from Clifton Springs won the Chairman\u2019s Award at the Master Builders Geelong Section Training Provider Apprentice of the Year awards at GMHBA Stadium last Wednesday night, while Jack Chafer from Torquay won the Diploma of Building and Construction Award.<\/p>\n
Master Builders Victoria chief executive officer Rebecca Casson said this year\u2019s nominees demonstrated laudable commitment, maturity and professional focus on their careers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese awards are hard-earned over a long period of time, so the apprentices are rightly excited about the recognition they\u2019re receiving, and what it says about the direction of their careers.<\/p>\n
\u201cApprentices are the future of our industry, and central to the vitality and liveability of each corner of our state.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Victoria grows the fastest of any state in Australia, so grows the demand for the next generation of builders.\u201d<\/p>\n
Blake attends Murray Mallee Training Company and is employed by Straight Up Roof Tiling Pty Ltd, while Jack attends The Gordon TAFE and is employed by Coastal Joinery & Staircases.<\/p>\n
Regional winners are selected after an interview with a panel of three judges.<\/p>\n
