ANGLESEA\u2019S Naantali Marshall won three gold medals at the first day of the Aussie Masters in Broadbeach, Queensland.<\/p>\n
The former Ironwoman competitor won the 40-44-year-old board, swim and Ironwoman events, proving her worthy status as a fine role model in championship competitions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve actually only done two masters competitions since I retired in 2006, but I was actually racing in open and professionally until I was 31. I suppose it\u2019s been 13 years now, but I take Nipper training and things like that so I suppose
\nI\u2019m on my board enough to stay in touch,\u201d she said in an interview on the sand after her wins.<\/p>\n
Marshall also competed in a team event in the Masters, scoring the runner-up title in the 140 years female beach relay with fellow Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club representatives Ilona Carson, Sally Cumming and Naomi Symington.<\/p>\n
Marshall returned to Ironwoman racing in 2014 after a nine-year hiatus and scored bronze in the Coolangatta Gold, one of the most challenging endurance races in surf sports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
