TORQUAY coffee roaster Ocean Grind has partnered with Surf Coast artist Natalie Martin to launch an exclusive exhibition which will commemorate the talent of local creatives.<\/p>\n
Opening this Friday and running until April 20, \u201cArt Local\u201d is a curated selection showcasing a diverse range of works from established and emerging Surf Coast artists.<\/p>\n
Caf\u00e9 owner Mark Clatworthy said Natalie approached him late last year and suggested he use his venue to display works from Surf Coast artists when local tourism is at its peak.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are always looking for ways to bring people together and shine a light on creative local artists and makers. We were thrilled to work with Natalie to make this exhibition happen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Over 20 artists will have their works displayed, including Rowena Martinich, Geoffrey Carran, Pete Cromer, Andrea Shaw and Nick Morris.<\/p>\n
Photographers Anita Beaney, Jarrah Lynch, Tal Lemmens as well as up and coming artists Tina Mose, Lucy Burke Sophie Brain will also be featured in the shared space.<\/p>\n
Event organiser Natalie Martin said the selection has been curated to demonstrate the depth of talent across the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not about showing the best or the most, it\u2019s about giving the Surf Coast creative community a face, to build connections among one another, to benefit other local businesses and provide an opportunity to display works when the coast has an influx of visitors,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The exhibition opens this Friday from 5pm- 9pm. There will be live music from Maximillian Rudd and Asha Henfry, drinks and a food truck from the Gypsy\u2019s Lunchbox on offer.<\/p>\n
