School holidays are on and there\u2019s no better time than autumn to get out and about in Armstrong\u2019s wonderland of natural parks, playgrounds and tracks and trails.<\/p>\n
With 30km of walking and cycling tracks, 24 hectares of parks and green spaces \u2013 four playgrounds including the remarkable Bunjil\u2019s Nest adventure park beside Club Armstrong \u2013 with wetlands, with Folko Kooper\u2019s fantastic sculptures and birdhouses, there\u2019s no excuse for kids not to get outside and playing in the open air.<\/p>\n
For Club Armstrong, owner\u2019s corporation residents, there are funpacked activities for the kids while on school holidays.<\/p>\n
These include an Easter Treasure Hunt and Sugar Blue Handcrafted Cookie decorating on Monday April 15 from 1pm to 3pm.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s also Hoop Fusion on Thursday April 18 from 1-3pm and a Guess How Many Eggs contest which will close Monday April 15. Please note that kids have to be accompanied by an adult for all activities.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, for over-16s, the club is offering Tai Chi Qugong on Wednesday mornings.<\/p>\n
There are also intermediate and beginner yoga classes Tuesdays 6.30pm and Wednesday 7.30pm respectively, in the function room upstairs.<\/p>\n
In addition, group training classes are staged Wednesday and Thursdays at 6.15pm and 6.30pm respectively.<\/p>\n
Great news, too, that the Grovedale Men\u2019s Shed which Villawood Properties supported for several years with accommodation at the former Grovedale airport hangar and inside Club Armstrong is coming back to Armstrong.<\/p>\n
This terrific community group, which grew bigger than its venues could accommodate, is set to return to a community complex the Geelong council plans to build at the corner of Unity and Sovereign drives, in the epicentre of Armstrong and within the forthcoming Neighbourhood Activity Centre, with its retail and services.<\/p>\n
