EIGHTEEN seasons in and 470 shows under the belt, A Day on the Green has again reaffirmed its status as one of Australia\u2019s premier outdoor concert events.<\/p>\n
Delivering its most diverse season since launching in 2001, this summer saw a stack of sensational shows, including 11 sold-out concerts from some of the biggest international and Australian artists.<\/p>\n
The Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong was so red hot it became the fastest-selling show in A Day on the Green history, with the 20,000 tickets snapped up in record time.<\/p>\n
Mt Duneed Estate was also the setting for one of Florence Welch\u2019s most memorable shows of her Australian tour, likewise in front of 20,000 people.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeelong was crazy \u2013 there were just so many people. I couldn’t believe it, I was really moved by it,\u201d Welch told Triple J.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a really beautiful thing. There were people as far as I could see, it (Geelong) kind of had like a Woodstock feeling to it, it was outdoors and it was a really incredible show.\u201d<\/p>\n
The second collaboration with the team behind RNB Fridays for the RNB Vine Days series proved another success, showcasing some of the biggest names in contemporary R&B \u2013 including Nelly, Craig David, All Saints, Amerie and YO! MAFIA\u2013 at venues across Australia, including Mt Duneed Estate.<\/p>\n
