THE Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) has started consultations on the draft master plans for the Anglesea Family Caravan Park and Taylor Park.<\/p>\n
The draft master plans have been informed by feedback from community and stakeholder consultation conducted over summer 2018\/19 and in response to increased visitation pressure to the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n
Feedback was strong during the initial consultation on both projects, with key themes including the need for the character and natural environment of both parks be protected and enhanced, and requests for upgraded facilities.<\/p>\n
Priorities identified from consultation on Anglesea Family Caravan Park included increased pet-friendly sites, an upgraded pool area, the introduction of camp fires, and more entertainment activities on offer in the park<\/p>\n
The key themes highlighted from the Taylor Park consultation included planting more native vegetation, cultural and heritage educational signage, protection from development, upgraded paths, and a grassed area.<\/p>\n
In response, the 10-year staged master plan for Anglesea Family Caravan Park focuses on enhancing the camper experience, improving the environment and acknowledging the cultural heritage of the park, updating existing amenities, and developing new facilities.<\/p>\n
The focus of the Taylor Park Draft Master Plan is on protecting and enhancing the environmental, biodiversity and heritage values of the park and upgrading facilities in the park.<\/p>\n
GORCC says the committee values community input and recognises that local knowledge is critical to the future management of both parks.<\/p>\n
Feedback received on each draft plan will be considered in the development of the final master plans.<\/p>\n
Consultation for the Anglesea Family Caravan Park will be held at the caravan park on May 3 from noon-2pm.<\/p>\n
Consultation for Taylor Park will be held at Taylor Park on May 4 from 10am-noon.<\/p>\n
