Osteopathy Australia states that \u201cOsteopaths are allied health professionals that offer patientcentred approaches to healthcare and functional improvement that recognise the vital link between the structure of the body and the way
\nit functions. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a holistic unit.\u201d<\/p>\n
In Australia, osteopaths are government-registered practitioners who complete minimum accredited university
\ntraining in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general healthcare diagnosis, and osteopathic techniques.<\/p>\n
There are 2,500 registered osteopaths in Australia, compared with 5,500 chiropractors, and 33,000 physiotherapists.<\/p>\n
