ANGLESEA<\/strong>
\n\u00bb Weather has been very poor so reports are far from conclusive
\n\u00bb Reports of lots of small salmon around being caught off local beaches
\n\u00bb A few small pinkies offshore
\n\u00bb Flathead out deep
\n\u00bb The occasional gummy shark
\n\u00bb A few whiting were being caught
\n\u00bb Taylor are being reported as well
\n\u00bb A few bream are still being reported
\n\u00bb Some small couta have been reported.<\/p>\n

BARWON HEADS<\/strong>
\n\u00bb A few reports of snapper, pinkies and flathead offshore
\n\u00bb The occasional gummy shark
\n\u00bb A few King George whiting in the river
\n\u00bb Trevally and salmon have also recently been reported
\n\u00bb Salmon are still being caught off the beaches.<\/p>\n

TORQUAY<\/strong>
\n\u00bb King George whiting are being reported in close
\n\u00bb Offshore reports of snapper and pinkies
\n\u00bb Some gummy shark reports and flathead
\n\u00bb A few salmon off the local beaches
\n\u00bb Reports of bream in Spring Creek<\/p>\n

QUEENSCLIFF<\/strong>
\n\u00bb St Leonards has seen reports of King George whiting, flathead and squid
\n\u00bb Clifton Springs has whiting, flathead, squid and some pinkie snapper have been reported
\n\u00bb Queenscliff has reports of whiting, flathead, pinkies and squid have been seen
\n\u00bb The creek has seen reports of the occasional trevally
\n\u00bb Swan Bay, reports pinkies, flathead and squid at the mouth
\n\u00bb Point Lonsdale has trevally, King George whiting, salmon, and squid being reported
\n\u00bb The White Lady was producing whiting, squid and flathead
\n\u00bb Indented Head had reports of flathead, King George whiting, squid, snapper and gummy shark.<\/p>\n

THERE is a bit of a push on by the state government to try and get Mums more involved in fishing.<\/p>\n

However, it seems that at the moment this just revolves around the inner Melbourne area.<\/p>\n

These types of events should be put out there for all clubs and organisations and councils as a great idea to support so they
\ntoo encourage those mums who want to get into fishing.<\/p>\n

The government should look at providing some incentives to those clubs and others to help encourage people throughout this region to get involved in these types of programs.<\/p>\n

Though quite a few mums are already involved in fishing in one way or another.<\/p>\n

So, for those of you that are, you may like to take advantage of this day being run by the state government in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

This Mother\u2019s Day Families are being encouraged to take their mums fishing at Albert Park Lake.<\/p>\n

Free fishing clinics, casting competitions and knot-tying demonstrations will be available at the Albert Park Lake event.<\/p>\n

The free event builds on the Victorian Fisheries Authority\u2019s Women in Recreational Fishing network, a Facebook group with more than 1,000 female members that was created to give women a support network and a place to ask fishing questions.<\/p>\n

VFA ambassador and AFLW star Chloe Molloy will bring her mum along on the day and fitness guru, Nike trainer and yoga instructor Stefanie Turner will run a free morning yoga session and a fishingthemed meditation session.<\/p>\n

Trout will be stocked on the day to increase everyone\u2019s chance of catching a fish.<\/p>\n

The day is part of the state government\u2019s $27 million Target One Million plan to get more people fishing.<\/p>\n

The event will run from 9am to 1pm on May 12 near The Point on Aquatic Drive.\u201d<\/p>\n
