LAST Thursday the 23rd annual Variety 4WD Adventure hit the road from Airey\u2019s Inlet Primary School.<\/p>\n
The fundraising drive covers some of Victoria\u2019s most iconic 4WD destinations over 10 days and finishes in Warragul this Saturday.<\/p>\n
All in the name of a good cause, the adventurers will tackle 2,580kms raising much needed funds for kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.<\/p>\n
A highlight was two special grant presentations at the start of the drive.<\/p>\n
The first went to the Aireys Inlet Primary School, where funds will be used to finance an outdoor learning area.<\/p>\n
For the second, Variety in partnership with The Honda Foundation have co-funded two floating wheelchairs and beach matting for the Jan Juc Surf Live Saving Club to support their life-changing program that allows children with disabilities to experience the ocean.<\/p>\n
Having raised over $1.3 million dollars since it began, the Variety 4WD Adventure is an iconic fundraiser that takes explorers to some of the country\u2019s most remote and beautiful locations.<\/p>\n
This year, 16 four-wheel drives will journey from Airey\u2019s Inlet taking in sights of the Great Ocean Road, over the South Australian border into Naracoorte and back through the heart of Victoria, stopping at many schools and towns along the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
