COMMUNITY consultations about plans for the future of the Great Ocean Road region has seen over 200 locals share their thoughts and concerns across five open house sessions.<\/p>\n
Jason Borg, Great Ocean Road management reform project director, said he encouraged more community members to attend the next eight events.<\/p>\n
Mr Borg said people from Torquay, Melbourne, Deans Marsh, Aireys Inlet and Anglesea had already participated in community conversations in the last fortnight.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Great Ocean Road team has visited five towns to date with eight more opportunities for the community to drop in, have their say and shape planning for the future direction of the Great Ocean Road region,\u201d Mr Borg said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere has been an excellent response to the sessions we\u2019ve run so far, with fantastic feedback from the community about the interactive and engaging nature of the sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Borg also said more than 80 surveys had been completed through the Engage Victoria website since initial discussions begun.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe open houses have been a good opportunity for people to get answers to questions they have regarding the future of the Great Ocean Road region,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese community conversations will help develop long-term objectives and a shared vision for the Great Ocean Road region, which will help protect the iconic landscapes of the region, protect the liveability of local communities and provide
\na great visitor experience now and into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Port Campbell (Wednesday 12 June, 6pm to 8pm)
\n\u2022 Timboon (Thursday 13 June, 6pm to 8pm)
\n\u2022 Colac (Monday 17 June, 6.30pm to 8.30pm)
\n\u2022 Apollo Bay (Tuesday 18 June, 6pm to 8pm)<\/p>\n
