THE ANGLESEA Kindergarten hosted a series of revegetation days last month thanks to a $3,420 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity grant which saw the school purchase new saplings to plant for its \u201cBush Kinder\u201d sessions.<\/p>\n

Anglesea, Aireys Inlet Society for the Protection of Flora and Fauna (ANGAIR) propagated over 500 plants from the local seed pool and joined in on the planting days, mentoring the kinder kids as they planted their seedlings.<\/p>\n

The project was a collaboration between Anglesea Kinder, YMCA Kids Go Bush and ANGAIR.<\/p>\n

Anglesea Kindergarten\u2019s Katrina Lovett said the first planting day was a great success, with 18 children from Anglesea Kindergarten working alongside volunteers, family and friends to revegetate areas of the existing Bush Kinder site at the YMCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim into the future is to develop a second Bush Kinder site so that use of the two sites can be rotated and allowed to rest and regenerate naturally,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
