AN IMPRESSIVE display of U3A Surf Coast students\u2019 diverse drawing skills, as well as a wonderful array of Ikebana, will be on display as part of the Shire\u2019s Arts Trail on August 10 and 11 at the Kurrambee Myaring Community Centre.<\/p>\n
The works of 11 artists and five Ikebana proponents will feature over the weekend, and each day between 10.30am and 2.30pm there will be demonstrations of the Ikebana process and techniques of drawing still life at an easel.<\/p>\n
Term three of U3A Surf Coast begins on July 22 with 19 classes and activities from which to choose and introducing, over four weeks, the Wiser Driver program, an informative, informal and friendly refresher course for responsible older drivers.<\/p>\n
Two lectures will also be on offer.<\/p>\n
On August 2, Carole Doyle from the Young Diggers, together with Companion and Assistance Dog Dusty, will explain how rescue dogs help Defence families better cope with the effects of PTSD.<\/p>\n
On September 13, Dr Mickey Huson formerly from CSIRO, presents a lecture with the intriguing title: \u201cThe time has come,\u201d the Scientist said, \u201cto talk of many things, of wool and food and jumping fleas, of honeybees and stings.\u201d<\/p>\n
