Annabel is no ordinary sheep. She is wiggly and jiggly, mud-puddling messy and refuses to be shorn.<\/p>\n
Loud noises hurt her ears and no matter how hard she tries, she just can\u2019t fit in with the mob.<\/p>\n
Annabel\u2019s Dance is inspired by the true stories of individual sheep, which escaped shearing since birth.<\/p>\n
Four cases have been found to date \u2013 in New Zealand, Tasmania and Victoria \u2013 where sheep were discovered with six years\u2019 growth of wool.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis story came to life when I was researching ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders, in an attempt to understand some of the different behaviours of my granddaughter,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wondered that perhaps having supersensitivities, like my granddaughter, was more common than I thought.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis may even extend to animals and some sheep might not like being shorn.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is estimated that one-in-100 people have Autism Spectrum Disorders.<\/p>\n
Annabel\u2019s Dance is for them and every person who has never quite \u201cfit in\u201d with the mob.<\/p>\n
