Salmon catches off local beaches continue<br \/>\n\u00bb Whiting reports are still happening but once again only when fisherman can get out<br \/>\n\u00bb A odd gummy shark and a few flathead are being reported when conditions permit.<\/p>\n<p><em>Report provided courtesy the Anglesea Rusty Anglers\u00a0<\/em><em>Angling Club<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>BARWON HEADS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bb Snapper, pinkies and flathead are reported but dependent on conditions<br \/>\n\u00bb River is still said to be producing some small whiting, trevally and salmon<br \/>\n\u00bb A few salmon are also being caught off local beaches, but reports are few and far between.<\/p>\n<p>TORQUAY<br \/>\n\u00bb Some reports of King George whiting, snapper and flathead but once again only when conditions permit<br \/>\n\u00bb Salmon off local beaches continue<br \/>\n\u00bb Spring Creek has small bream reported.<\/p>\n<p><em>Courtesy Torquay Tackle and Sports<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>QUEENSCLIFF<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bb St Leonards reports good-sized King George whiting, a few flathead and squid<br \/>\n\u00bb Clifton Springs is still seeing whiting, flathead, calamari along with some pinkie snapper when people can get out<br \/>\n\u00bb Queenscliff has reports of whiting as well as flathead, pinkies and calamari continuing when conditions permit<br \/>\n\u00bb The creek has a few trevally being caught<br \/>\n\u00bb Swan Bay continues to see pinkies, flathead and calamari near the mouth<br \/>\n\u00bb Point Lonsdale pier has reports of trevally, King George whiting and some salmon continuing<br \/>\n\u00bb The White Lady has reports of whiting, calamari and flathead<br \/>\n\u00bb Indented Head also has reports of flathead, King George whiting, calamari and snapper continuing.<\/p>\n<p>FISHING in Victoria will become easier and more accessible with 12 new projects across the state to be funded with fishing licence fees.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford joined recreational fishers at the Snobs Creek hatchery near Eildon to announce the 12 new projects which include new fishing platforms and access tracks, more fish habitat into rivers and lakes, and lots of learn-to-fish clinics for beginners.<\/p>\n<p>The Gippsland Lakes will receive a new woody habitat, which will provide new homes for popular species including bream, estuary perch and Australian bass.<\/p>\n<p>The Little Murray River will also receive new homes for iconic species like Murray cod and golden perch with more snags and woody habitat added to the waterway.<\/p>\n<p>Fishcare Victoria will receive funding to deliver 100 \u2018Fishing For All Abilities\u2019 clinics in the Kingston, Bayside, Hobsons Bay and Port Phillip shires and 200 workshops through schools and at community events.<\/p>\n<p>Fishing facilities and access will be boosted across Victoria through projects including an extension to the Reeve Landing Jetty at Lakes Entrance, an upgrade of the Rippleside Jetty in Corio Bay, and new fishing platforms and a boardwalk at Ferntree Gully\u2019s Quarry Lake In central Victoria, the Ballarat Fish Acclimatisation Society on the banks of Lake Wendouree has received funding for a new filtration system to remove suspended solids and boost trout survival rates.<\/p>\n<p>These projects complement dozens of others funded by the state government\u2019s $35 million Target One Million plan to get more people fishing, more often in more places.<\/p>\n<p>Snobs Creek hatchery has received more than $2 million of funding from recreational fishing licence fees to help it grow and stock popular species like Murray cod, rainbow trout, brown trout, Chinook salmon, Macquarie perch and trout cod.<\/p>\n<p>The hatchery is the backbone of fish production for Victoria\u2019s state-wide stocking program and will be supported by a new<br \/>\nnative fish hatchery near Shepparton, to be operational by 2022.
