A clever mix of gothic melodrama, Dadaism and personal stories of confession, Company13\u2019s narrative examines the ways that desire, love and infatuation create havoc and prompt questions about one\u2019s sense of self. <\/p>\n
Dubbed a horror thriller, The Hunter. The Hunted is filled with idiocy, tragedy and the effects of love.<\/p>\n
Director James Pratt said the story will take the audience on a journey through highs and lows. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe central story in this work is really about the battle between the rational and the intuitive, played out in a love triangle,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPerfect fodder for a Gothic melodrama. I really enjoy mixing lots of play and fun with big dramatic stuff, and this show has all that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The show has been in the works since 2012 when the company received creative developing funding through Arts Victoria. <\/p>\n
Taking inspiration from Pamela Allen\u2019s book, Black Dog \u2013 which details the relationship between a girl and a dog \u2013 saw the development of The Hunter. The Hunted which explores themes of love, loyalty and obsession.<\/p>\n
