SURF Coast Shire residents are now able to make formal complaints to the council about their neighbours being too noisy by using The Noise App.<\/p>\n

Residents have traditionally had to fill out the Noise Nuisance Complaint Form, but approximately three months ago council began accepting complaints through the free app.<\/p>\n

The Noise App captures samples of noise while also logging the time and duration of the noise.<\/p>\n

The City of Casey Council was one of the first areas in Australia to trial the app for noise complaints.<\/p>\n

They started the trial at the beginning of the year and have since had over 100 noise cases submitted to council via the app.<\/p>\n

City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon welcomed the app, but said it was ideal first \u201cto have a conversation with their neighbour about any concerning noise issues\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Surf Coast Shire has experienced less than 100 noise complaints in the past two years, and has so far only received three complaints through The Noise App.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
