In this spin-off of the Fast and Furious franchise, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham take centre stage, reprising their respective roles as US federal agent Luke Hobbs and former British Special Forces Deckard Shaw.<\/p>\n
These two characters have never seen eye-to-eye, but their forced to put aside their differences when Brixton Lore (Idris Elba), a cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist working for a shadowy organisation, comes after a bio-weapon being guarded by Shaw\u2019s own sister, Hattie Shaw (Vanessa Kirby).<\/p>\n
With the world under threat, it\u2019s up to Hobbs and Shaw to stop Brixton from unleashing the devastating virus.<\/p>\n
If they can overcome their constant bickering that is.<\/p>\n
Hobbs and Shaw had some of the best banter in the previous Fast and Furious movies, so making a spin-off focused on them was a smart move.<\/p>\n
Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham bounce off each other really well, bringing an excellent blend of comedy to the high-octane action.<\/p>\n
Hattie Shaw is no pushover either, managing to keep pace with Hobbs and Shaw and even calling them out on their childish bickering.<\/p>\n
Brixton was a genuinely threatening villain, as you\u2019re left wondering how the heroes are going to defeat a literal super soldier.<\/p>\n
The plot sends the characters globe-trotting to the likes of London, Ukraine and Samoa, adding a diverse range of settings for the action to take place.<\/p>\n
Speaking of the action, when seeing this movie, you have to make sure to put any notions of physics and logic out your mind. Some of the action gets crazily insane at times.<\/p>\n
As long as you remember this and go into this film looking to have fun, then you\u2019re sure to enjoy yourself.<\/p>\n
Overall, this was an awesome ride the whole way through, with amusing characters and pedal to metal action to keep you entertained.<\/p>\n
