{"id":29854,"date":"2019-09-12T07:00:27","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T21:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=29854"},"modified":"2020-10-12T14:38:15","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T04:38:15","slug":"b-i-g-news-from-the-team-at-little-creatures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/b-i-g-news-from-the-team-at-little-creatures\/","title":{"rendered":"B.I.G news from the team at Little Creatures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LITTLE Creatures Brewery has announced its inaugural Born In Geelong (B.I.G) Festival which will launch at the premises this October.<\/p>\n<p>In what\u2019s been described as a celebration of the region, the birthplace of Furphy ale will transform its iconic site into a premium music venue featuring two stages.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-hour program is predicted to attract over 4000 festivalgoers who will wander the brewery\u2019s laneways while treating their ears to sounds from the nation\u2019s most sought-after talents including Ball Park Music, Allday, Alex Lahey, British India and Alice Ivy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-29854-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" autoplay preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/British-India-Live-Footage-2014.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/British-India-Live-Footage-2014.mp4\">https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/British-India-Live-Footage-2014.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Little Creatures operations manager Scott Campbell said the festival will serve as an opportunity to pay thanks to its long-time supporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to pay tribute to the Furphy brand, which was born in Geelong, while jointly celebrating the best of our local community and culture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to have many local businesses involved in the festival, from The Hot Chicken Project to The Resident Barber who will be serving up some fresh cuts. We want to showcase Geelong as a burgeoning food, lifestyle and entertainment destination, and we\u2019re excited about putting the spotlight firmly on Geelong for this great event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said as part of the festival, the brewery is partnering with K rock 95.5 to deliver an on-air promotion in the hope of discovering \u201cthe next best band\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The winning act will perform at the festival\u2019s K rock \u201cB.I.G Sessions\u201d stage alongside some of Geelong\u2019s biggest live acts.<\/p>\n<p>In a step forward for sustainability, B.I.G will be a cashless festival and work in collaboration with Bettercup, a reusable cup company that aims to eradicate single-use waste at events and venues.<\/p>\n<p>The B.I.G Festival will be held on Saturday October 26 from 12pm-10pm.
