IN A WIN for the housing industry, two local builders are still celebrating after claiming Best Display Home in their respective categories at the HIA<\/a> Western Region awards.<\/p>\n

Aaron and Sarah Anstis from Hotondo Homes in Ocean Grove won Best Display Home in the $300,000-$400,000 category for their Tarkine 238.<\/p>\n

The team were praised by the judges for the property\u2019s family-friendly layout and quality workmanship.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis achievement wouldn\u2019t have been possible if it wasn\u2019t for my entire team who work so hard behind the scenes,\u201d Mr Anstis said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love absolutely everything about the Tarkine, but to know that the experts agree is one of the best compliments we could ever receive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter and Kerri Scott from Hotondo Homes in Torquay impressed the judges with their eye-catching Esplanade 260, taking out the Best Display Home in the $500,000 to $800,000 category.<\/p>\n

Designed with a coastal lifestyle in mind, the aptly named Esplanade offers open-plan living on the top floor and makes the most of its location.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy team and I always strive to build homes to the highest quality, and to be honoured for that is fantastic,\u201d Mr Scott said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are so many experienced and talented builders in our region, so to have our work recognised amongst all these others is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The annual event honours the achievements of those in the housing industry who pave the way for innovation, design and construction.<\/p>\n

Judged by a panel of independent industry professionals, the awards acknowledge the talent of local builders.<\/p>\n

Torquay-based Kre8 Living had an outstanding night, winning Display Home of the Year as well as the kitchen design award for their Seascape 29 display home in Torquay.<\/p>\n

Judges praised the home for its new and innovative design that \u201cuses appropriate materials to develop the \u2018coastal look\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n

PJ Scott Homes from Torquay also won display home category awards, and additional winners in the custom built home categories included Coastyle Building Solutions (Indented Head).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
