TORQUAY Community Enterprise (TCE) in partnership with Bendigo Bank Torquay distributed more than $18,000 worth of funding to local organisations at its annual grant handover last week.<\/p>\n
Held at the Torquay Community Bank branch on Gilbert Street, the September 19 event was supported by special guests Mayor Rose Hodge (Surf Coast Shire), Shea Hunt (Bendigo Bank regional manager) and Sean Oakley (Big Blue).<\/p>\n
Cheques were presented to:
\n\u2022\tTorquay Lions Club ($2,000)
\n\u2022\tThe Quay Residents Association ($2,000)
\n\u2022\tTorquay RSL Veterans ($1,900)
\n\u2022\tSurf Coast Football Club ($1,000)
\n\u2022\tSurf Coast Suns Netball ($2,000)
\n\u2022\tSurf Coast Toy Library ($1462.52)
\n\u2022\tTorquay Surf Life Saving Club ($1407)
\n\u2022\tTorquay Theatre Troupe ($1049)
\n\u2022\tTorquay Netball Club ($1000)
\n\u2022\tU3A Surf Coast ($803)
\n\u2022\tTorquay Hockey ($1,900)<\/p>\n
Along with its grant recipients, TCE also contributed more than $20,000 in sponsorships. Since its inception, the not-for-profit organisation has donated more than $300,000 in grants and sponsorships to community projects. <\/p>\n
Customers who bank at the branch can elect for a small percentage of their banking value and business spend be diverted to TCE so it can facilitate its annual grant handover. <\/p>\n
The initiative comes at no cost to bankers. Torquay Community Enterprise took to social media to commemorate the success of this year\u2019s event. <\/p>\n
