DESPITE being scheduled for installation in October, Anglesea residents are still waiting for their two bus shelters to be installed.<\/p>\n

The Anglesea Public Transport Action Group (APTAG) successfully lobbied to Public Transport Victoria (PTV) for the funding of two shelters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
However, delays with the contractor selected by the Surf Coast Shire have set the schedule back.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The shire’s general manager of governance and infrastructure Anne Howard said it still may be some time before the shelters are in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“Fabrication delays have impacted the installation of bus shelters in Anglesea, however we anticipate the works will be completed by Christmas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“A Victorian-based contractor was appointed to manufacture and install the bus shelters, in accordance with Council’s standard procurement policy for requesting a quote.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
One of the two stops is set to go near the surf shop inbound from Geelong, and the other at Point Roadknight outbound to Lorne.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
APTAG have been campaigning for improved public transports in Anglesea for five years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Their lobbying to PTV was aided by advocacy from Anglesea Community House, Anglesea Community Network and the Surf Coast Shire.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
