A HUMBLE donkey will be centre stage in the nativity pageant at this year\u2019s Community Carols in Aireys Inlet.<\/p>\n
A group of enthusiastic children from Aireys Inlet Primary School are again coming together to perform a play depicting the story of Jesus\u2019 birth.<\/p>\n
The play, The Donkey\u2019s Christmas, is all performed in rhyming couplets. The donkey learns that the circumstances of Jesus\u2019 birth bring the message that there is greatness in humility.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe children are all having great fun rehearsing their parts, although the two who will be wearing the donkey suit are hoping for a cool evening,\u201d event organiser Mary Bremner said.<\/p>\n
The evening is organised by the Combined Churches of Aireys Inlet (Anglican, Catholic and Uniting).<\/p>\n
A band of local musicians will accompany the singing of favourite carols.<\/p>\n
The event will be held in the Aireys Inlet Community Hall on December 8 starting at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n
The organisers are asking everyone who comes along to bring a Christmas gift or financial donation, to be distributed this year through the Anglican Church, to needy families in the district. Entry will be by gold coin donation to cover expenses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
