COSTA Georgiadis from Gardening Australia will host a free event at Warralily on Saturday February 13.<\/p>\n
Warralily welcomes nature lovers and green thumbs to learn about the urban wetland regeneration with Costa and Warralily urban landscape designer Jeremy Minter.<\/p>\n
Starting at the Warralily parkland on the corner of Warralily Boulevard and Barwon Heads Road at 10.30am, walkers will wander along the creek pathway to Stewarts Reserve and enjoy a free picnic lunch with a birdhouse making workshop among the Eucalyptus trees.<\/p>\n
The Geelong Field Naturalists Club Bird Group will be on hand to talk about the growing number of bird species they have surveyed at Warralily during the past 12 months.<\/p>\n
City of Greater Geelong Councillor Andy Richards will also be launching the Warralily Discovery Trail Map.<\/p>\n
This will be a resource for local residents to help their families have a strong connection with the outdoor environment at their doorstep.<\/p>\n
The map highlights opportunities for children of all ages to explore and engage with nature.<\/p>\n
Armstrong Creek has historical and cultural
\nof the Warralily community.<\/p>\n
Bryon Powell, a Wuddawurrung (Wathaurung) elder, will join discussions to communicate the creek\u2019s rich Indigenous history.<\/p>\n
