LOCAL surfers will have the chance to hold competitions at Melbourne\u2019s new surf park through a new partnership with Surfing Victoria.<\/p>\n
The partnership, revealed earlier this week, will see Surfing Victoria provide all Victorian coastal boardriders clubs with the chance to hold a \u201cclub round\u201d at the park for no cost.<\/p>\n
Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson said he was pleased with the park\u2019s ambition to support surfers at all levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe inclusive nature of what URBNSURF is aiming to achieve with the surf park – to open the sport up to all ages and abilities – complements Surfing Victoria\u2019s purpose of enriching Victorian communities through surfing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Local surfers Xavier Huxtable, Ellie Harrison and Cahill Bell-Warren were among the first to ride the artificial waves at URBANSURF this week.<\/p>\n
