THE Surf Coast Shire council is running a survey to guide how the council delivers waste and recycling services.<\/p>\n

The shire is planning to introduce a fourth wheelie bin for the collection of glass and begin Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) collection in 2020. Both changes are planned for April.<\/p>\n

Surf Coast Shire governance and infrastructure general manager Anne Howard encouraged people to share their opinions on the council’s waste and recycling strategies.<\/p>\n

“We know it’s a topic that many residents feel passionate about so we’d love to hear from as many people as possible. It only takes 10 minutes to complete the survey.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“The community views shared in the survey will help us guide our roll-out processes as we implement these changes. They will also give us a better idea of what’s important to residents when we make choices about how we deliver our waste services into the future.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In 2019, the shire ran trials for both the bin dedicated to glass and FOGO collection. The responses they received to these trials were predominantly positive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
