GOOD vibrations rattled past on an early January Saturday night cruise, with 320 classic cars heading through Portarlington, Indented Head, Clifton Springs and St Leonards.<\/p>\n
Hundreds of locals and campers lined the route and returned to Drysdale reserve for a superb meal and entertainment provided by the Drysdale Cricket Club.<\/p>\n
According to Mark Filbay of Autopro Drysdale, participants said it was the best car-cruise they\u2019d ever been on.<\/p>\n
The cruise was part of the The Autopro Drysdale Car Show on the Sunday.<\/p>\n
Sunday saw over 600 classic cars, hotrods, motorbikes and vintage machinery show up to compete for trophies and prizes.<\/p>\n
A huge crowd enjoyed a giant exhibition of vehicles featuring a wide range of makes and models from the very early to the more contemporary.<\/p>\n
Admission was free and a band played throughout the day.<\/p>\n
The kids enjoyed the jumping castle and the cricket club provided barbecue and bar facilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had some exciting rescue displays by the SES and support from the Drysdale Fire Brigade, it was a great family day had by all, and we look forward to an even bigger event next year,\u201d Mr Filbay said.<\/p>\n
Now in its fourth year, he said interest in the event kept growing, with more than 200 cars last year, a huge rise from the event in its infancy when a few cars gathered in the Autopro car park in Murradoc Road.<\/p>\n
The major sponsor was Autopro Drysdale with support from Bendigo Bank, Darbys Paints, Dimos Mechanical repairs, Drysdale Motors, Faggs Mitre 10, Pearce Geotech Pty\/Ltd and Shannons Insurance.<\/p>\n
Next year\u2019s show will be held on Saturday January 7 2017 (cruise night) and Sunday January 8 (classic car show).<\/p>\n
