{"id":33647,"date":"2020-01-23T00:00:26","date_gmt":"2020-01-22T14:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=33647"},"modified":"2020-10-07T11:38:10","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T01:38:10","slug":"melbourne-songstress-angie-mcmahon-to-headline-meadow-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/melbourne-songstress-angie-mcmahon-to-headline-meadow-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Melbourne songstress Angie McMahon to headline Meadow 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of regional Victoria\u2019s favourite music festivals Meadow is returning this March \u2013 and the buzz surrounding its second line-up announcement is helping spread the word.<\/p>\n<p>Melbourne\u2019s Angie McMahon was the brightest star on the most recent bill of acts, followed by Aussie indie rock outfit Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Coupling intimately relatable lyrics with soulful acoustics, Angie McMahon will headline Meadow 2020 with some of the most honest songwriting of recent times.<\/p>\n<p>Her 2019 debut record <i>Salt<\/i> has received nods around the globe, with tracks \u2018Soon\u2019, \u2018Pasta\u2019 and \u2018Slow Mover\u2019 expanding her fanbase.<\/p>\n<p>Other talents joining the program include Sheer Mag, Close Counters, Dyson Stringer Cloher, Youth Group, Loure, Emily Wurramara, Cool Sounds, 3k, Darcy Justice, Sweet Whirl, First Beige, Elle Shimada Collective, Colette, EGOISM, Surprise Chef, 100 and Swazi Gold.<\/p>\n<p>Nestled on the edge of the Otways and backdropped by bushland and open plains, Meadow will showcase a cross-section of contemporary music over a three day, two-night program.<\/p>\n<p>With the limited release allocation now exhausted, 300 general release tickets and glamping packages are now available starting from $170. Total capacity is carefully capped to maximise room for movement.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will donate 20 per cent of profits from its 2020 ticket sales to Country Fire Authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we\u2019ve been blessed with luck on our side of the state, wildfires around Australia have devastated many,\u201d the festival said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are a small organisation, but alongside our punters we wish to make a real commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meadow are once again on the look-out for an emerging artist from the Geelong, Surf Coast and Otways areas to score themselves a set time at the seventh festival.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are open until midnight on Friday, February 14.
