With only one minute on the clock and requiring a high score, Goldsbury took off on a left-hander performing three powerful turns in the critical sections of the bigger wave \u2013 finishing with a creative turn to score a 9.35 (out of a possible 10.00). That wave combined with her 6.25 was enough to give her the win. She dropped her surfboard to the ground in happiness as she heard her score and the final hooter sounded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe I just won the first Pro Junior comp of the year,\u201d Goldsbury said. \u201cI\u2019ve been working pretty hard behind the scenes lately so I\u2019m pretty stoked. I didn\u2019t have a great start to the final \u2013 I managed to get a six and I knew I needed something big. Luckily, a wave came and gave me a last-minute opportunity to do something, so I decided to go nuts \u2013 and ended up getting the score and I was so stoked.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_33844\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33844\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33844\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/Harrison_A6214HQPJ2_82547-e1579661513732.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33844\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ellie Harrison in action at Dunbarah.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>George Pittar (North Manly) won the men\u2019s division of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldsurfleague.com\/events\/2020\/mjun\/3261\/hydralyte-sports-surf-series-qld-pro-junior\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">event<\/a>, defeating Joel Vaughan (Bateau Bay), Lennox Chell (Avoca) and Marlon Harrison (Coolangatta) respectively in the final. Pittar put together an 8.6 and a 7.75 for a combined heat total of 16.35 to take the win over his fellow competitors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a shocker last year, so I didn\u2019t come into this event with too much confidence,\u201d Pittar said. \u201cBut I\u2019ve been training and I\u2019ve got my boards right so I\u2019m ecstatic. I\u2019m so excited that I\u2019m shaking! It was a tough heat out there for sure \u2013 there was a lot of water moving and it was hard to know where everyone was.
