The Potato Shed will be brightened by colours of the rainbow next week when the Geelong Rainbow Festival rolls in to present Homophonic! \u2013 a concert of new classical music by LGBTIQ+ composers.<\/p>\n

Coming off the back of a successful season at La Mama Theatre in Melbourne, Homophonic! has been entertaining audiences for about nine years.<\/p>\n

A celebration of “sapphic symphonists”, “homosexual harmonies”, and the “long and proud tradition of composers being as gay as the day is long”, Homophonic! is part of this year’s Geelong Rainbow Festival.<\/p>\n

Chair of the City of Greater Geelong’s arts, culture and heritage portfolio Cr Trent Sullivan said the festival’s program was shaping up to be one of the best.<\/p>\n

“I’m excited to see the program for the upcoming Geelong Rainbow Festival has grown to include a classical concert \u2013 there really is something for everyone,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I’m sure Homophonic! will be a fun experience for not only seasoned classical concert-goers but those new to the genre.”<\/p>\n

Featuring works for strings, flute and voices performed by Melbourne’s most in-demand professional chamber musicians, Homophonic! hits all the notes.<\/p>\n

The Geelong Rainbow Festival is funded by the City of Greater Geelong through the Creative Communities Grants fund.<\/p>\n

Homophonic! will be performed at 8pm on February 6 at the Potato Shed, 41 Peninsula Drive, Drysdale from 8pm onwards.<\/p>\n
