POLICE are investigating a crash in Mt Duneed on Thursday that left a woman with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Police said witnesses told them a white Ford sedan was travelling behind a red Mitsubishi sedan east along Lower Duneed Road just after 2pm.<\/p>\n
It is believed that near Charlemont Road, the white Ford collided into the rear of the Mitsubishi, which left the road and crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 25-year-old woman from Mount Helen, was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The woman\u2019s young daughter in the Mitsubishi was also taken to hospital for observation.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Ford, a 45-year-old Whittington man, was taken to hospital and is assisting police with their enquiries.<\/p>\n
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.<\/p>\n
Police are keen to speak to anyone that may have witnessed the collision or the movements of the white Ford sedan prior to the collision.<\/p>\n
