{"id":34010,"date":"2020-01-30T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2020-01-29T14:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=34010"},"modified":"2020-01-28T17:07:27","modified_gmt":"2020-01-28T07:07:27","slug":"opening-hours-libraries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/opening-hours-libraries\/","title":{"rendered":"New opening hours proposed for GRLC libraries"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>THE Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) has proposed changes to the opening hours of the majority of its libraries.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>People are currently able to have their say on these proposals, with the changes not set to occur before July this year.<\/p>\n<div>Only six of the GRLC&#8217;s 17 branches have no proposed changes, including Torquay and Queenscliff libraries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>If the proposed changes are accepted there will be significant changes to Drysdale Library&#8217;s opening hours.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It will close at 6pm on all weekdays but will only open from 9am-noon on Saturdays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Ocean Grove&#8217;s proposed schedule is identical.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>On weekdays the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre will open at 9am instead of 8am.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The suggested changes would also see Barwon Heads Library open slightly earlier and close slightly later Mondays and Tuesdays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Leopold Library is set to be open an extra five hours on Saturday. Its proposed hours are 9am-5pm instead of 10am-1pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>People can give their input on the suggested changes at <a href=\"http:\/\/grlc.vic.gov.au\/haveyoursay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">grlc.vic.gov.au\/haveyoursay<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The survey will be open until February 29.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) has proposed changes to the opening hours of the majority of its libraries.
