ON FEBRUARY 16, Torquay Senior Citizens Centre will be alive with the sound of clicking tiles as people gather over a game of Mah Jong.<\/p>\n
The event is being organised by Marie Darby, who for several years has helped many people form friendships over the centuries-old game.<\/p>\n
Ms Darby started teaching the game to others in the area in 2005 and continued to do so at the University of the Third Age (U3A).<\/p>\n
She said she kept contact with some of those she had taught but was looking forward to reuniting with others.<\/p>\n
“It’s just a great chance to get in touch with people that we can’t otherwise,” Ms Darby said.<\/p>\n
Having taught so many groups to play over the years, Marie is looking for a representative from each group to get in touch.<\/p>\n
