HALF a dozen unique benches, designed to commemorate the Great Ocean Road’s 100th birthday, are now available for relocation.<\/p>\n

The six seats feature original works of art from local artists Norm Stanley, Sisca Verwoert and Karlijn Sas.<\/p>\n

Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism (GORRT) general manager Liz Price said the seats had been well used since their installation and hoped they would continue to benefit the community.<\/p>\n

“These seats have contributed significantly to the visitor experience.<\/p>\n

“We want them to remain prominent and accessible to the public if possible.”<\/p>\n

The seats are presently located at Torquay, Anglesea, Kennett River, Lorne, Wye River, and Apollo Bay.<\/p>\n

Thy were placed on a trail with historical information available at each site through QR codes.<\/p>\n

The seats were conceptualised by The Social Crew and designed by Supa Dupa.<\/p>\n

In commissioning the seats, GORRT aimed to encourage visitors to slow down to fully appreciate the region.<\/p>\n
